Survey Reveals Mothers Rely Heavily on Caffeine and Sugar to Stay Energized Throughout the Day

Motherhood is the ultimate endurance sport, requiring incredible stamina, energy and dedication. While moms focus on keeping their families healthy and strong, the majority fall short when it comes to fueling their own bodies. A national survey commissioned by FRS, a company which produces a line of Healthy Performance products, found that the number one obstacle moms face is a lack of energy, and to help them get through the day, most turn to beverages loaded with caffeine and sugar.

According to Livestrong.com, the experts indicate the stimulants in most traditional energy drinks do not provide energy. Rather, they use energy by producing a stress response in the body to create an illusion of increased endurance, and ultimately make the body more tired. Additionally, experts say the effects of combining caffeine and sugar, found in many energy drinks, can cause a crash in blood sugar levels and an imbalance in glucose levels.
