Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Although this is a very girlie blog, it is imperative for us to recognize Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. In doing so, I have provided a few quick facts about prostate cancer. Because most men probably won't visit Cucumbers and Lipgloss, it is important for my female followers to help me spread the word about this disease. I have provided a few disturbing facts below:

Prostate Cancer is…

•The most common cancer in men, no matter your race or ethnicity.

•More common in African-American men compared to white men.

•The second most common cause of death from cancer among white, African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, and Hispanic men.

•Less common in American Indian/Alaska Native and Asian/Pacific Islander men compared to white men.

In 2008 (the most recent year for which numbers are available)—•214,633 men in the United States were diagnosed with prostate cancer.*•28,471 men in the United States died from prostate cancer.*
